The long awaited GWRLT Strategic Conservation Plan has been completed and is ready for adoption by the Board.  Thank you to everyone who participated in our online and one-on-one interviews (all 100+ of you!).  We are very grateful for all of the work that the Wells Reserve, Coastal Services, our consultant Barb Welch, the volunteer GWRLT Board of Directors and Tin Smith in particular dedicated to this project.

Underlying this plan is the belief that we stand at an important place in the history of our communities.  The land use decisions that are made in the next 20 years will shape our landscape for centuries to come. For this reason, this proposed conservation plan sets forward ambitious conservation goals for our communities and this land trust.  We welcome any and all comments about this vision for having a meaningful impact on the landscape and the quality of life available for future generation.  Please feel free to send your comments to us via email at or contact one of the GWRLT Board Members.

This plan was supported by a grant from the Land Trust Alliance in conjunction with the Maine Coast Protection Initiative along with significant donations of time, expertise and GIS services from the Wells National Estuarine Research Reserve.
